Wedding Anniversary celebrated at The Village Restaurant Doha

Hey guys, if you are in Qatar and looking for a good restaurant around Souq Waqif then i would highly recommend you The village Restaurant.

On 13th July we celebrate our wedding anniversary and every year we try to celebrate it differently and try to make it memorable. This year was our third year marriage anniversary so to make it even more memorable we decided to have a dinner date at The Village Restaurant at Souq Waqif. At around 6pm we started off from home to souq Waqif and after roaming around the market place enjoying the walk we later went to this restaurant to have some nice Indian food.

This restaurant serves Turkish, Iranian, and Indian cuisines. The overall ambiance is very beautiful decorated with beautiful lights and decor items. The roof top as well as floor looks absolutely great and gives Arabic and Turkish vibes.

We chose the roof top area for our dinning which has separate private dinning areas for families and the door attached can be opened to lead into the roof to get the aerial view of the market place of Souq. The staff were also very friendly and after checking out the menus which are given in an i -pad we decided upon what to have for the dinner.

We had some really delicious food here.Lets start with the Moctails first.

We has two Mocktails Pink Morcoso and Coconut lime cooler.Out of the two I would highly recommend you to go for Coconut Lime Cooler if you like the aroma of coconut and sweet taste. Pink Morcoso was a citrus blend and had tangy flavour which i would rate 3/5.

PINK MORCOSO

COCONUT LIME COOLER.

For starters we had some Sesame coated Shrimp - which was a crispy shrimp battered and coated with sesame seeds and deep fried. It was served with a tangy sauce along with some bread and green chutney (dip). The shrimp were beautifully arranged over a piece of pineapple and the presentation was very nice.

We also had a platter of Mixed Kebab - which we later on realized was sufficient for not just 2 but 4 people .The platter consist of Chikkken tikka kebabs, Hara bara kebabs (green), Malai kebab (white/creamy ), Seekh kebabs as well as mutton chops served with salad and dips.

We also ordered Naan (bread ) and Mutton Rogan Gosh to go with it.

And not to forget we had Kunaffa for dessert which is an Turkish/Arabic sweet dessert made of seviya and cheese which is a very popular sweet dish in middle east.

The food items were too good although I would not say it was budget friendly but it was totally worth of it.

We had a good time and a memorable day here.
